The supplies are welcomed at face value. There is little room for being suspicious of Fey Treachery when food is as scarce as it is for those affected by the disaster.

Most agree that it is the freshest produce most of them have had in years, disaster or no. It bolsters many people who were on the edge of snapping and relieves some pressure from the Caterers Guild.

((Better late than never?))

Amidst the chaos, the rubble and the collapsed buildings, Snaga is found in the thick of the bloody task of freeing those trapped beneath the shattered stone of the city. Dead or alive, he shoulders aside ruins alongside the citizens of the Avendel with the tireless, stubborn endurance of his breed. For the few willing to let such a beast lay hands on them, they find their wounds treated brusquely but effectively, whether it be cuts needing stitching, or a limb needing amputation.

For the latter, his axe is more than sharp enough to do the job.

While Isania brings in her own large game for the Caterer's guild, she does not linger in the city nor preach for either side of the growing inner-city conflict.

Her final business before she is back north is to leave letter with the household of Lord Rowley, hopefully inquiring as to the health of the household and again reaffirming her oath to protect Bodkin from any fey or savage threat- inside or out.

---

Calisto finds herself doing much more for the recovery effort, using her advantage of flight to look for any stranded among rubble. She does her best, however, to keep away from any of Darith's entourage.

Snaga saves quite a few lives in the aftermath of the disaster. Most of those he saved are just plain grateful, not caring that he is not human. In fact many see themselves as being indebted to him for his actions.

---
The Caterers are most grateful and in the spirit of the time don't feel the need to pay her for her charity.

Isania finds the Tribune to be eerily quiet; the townhouses and small estates firmly shuttered and guarded. Silent and humourless household retainers peer at her suspiciously. Whole streets are barricaded and guarded by Blacksnake and Corsair Mercenaries.

Her oath is received and it is promised that it will be passed on though the overly officious door man at the Rowley Gate refuses to disclose the Lord's location "for security reasons."

---

Calisto spots a fire early and manages to alert people on the ground and help in containing the blaze. Were it not for her intervention who knows how far it might have spread.

However the air above the city is still thick with dust, smoke and putrid aromas making it an ordeal to stay airborne for too long at a time.

When making a landing she accidentally happens upon Darith distributing food to refugees and offering words of encouragement. He wears carefully chosen roughhewn work clothes and dirt is smudged artistically across his face to great effect. She had not spotted him in this uncharacteristic dress.

Re: Amidst the rubble and wreckage of the city...

//not really been on much so i'll do a wee catch up

Caldur returned from the expedition to bring down the Barghest with a sizable reward for his exploits, he immediately decided that the best course of action would be to drink himself to oblivion and back, otherwise he'd just ‘waste the money’. So for the next few days this was the case, he fell out of his bed when the earthquakes struck but he thought nothing of it and passed out almost instantly. When he finally came round the next morning he set off for Abflecks in search of a magical hangover cure, it was only when he had taken what was on offer that he realised what had happened. ‘This will not do at all’ he thinks and hurries back to the inn with a little smile and an idea.

He returns to the streets sometime later with a donkey and cart loaded with a huge keg of ale, ‘property of the blue moon inn’ had been crudely painted over and replaced with an attempt at a painting of a chimera with the name written below it in big gold letters. He then spends the next few hours leading the donkey round the town handing out free ale to thirsty workers and refugees ‘Courtesy of the Chimera, Avendel’s up and coming Mercenary Company!’

The travelling supply of Ale is most welcome. With the Underworks in such upheaval beer and ale have replaced water as the main fluid intake of those working to rebuild and the numerous refugees who crowd the streets. The name Chimera will no doubt stay with many of those whom he meets, an impact made more powerful as most other mercenary groups are guarding private holdings around the city rather than helping the people.

---

The sun continues to beat down upon the city. With not a trace of rain since the disaster dusk clogs the air, everything is covered in a fine layer of rubble dust and soot. The burnt remains of buildings still smolder with smoke rising from the blackened timber.

While toiling long hours each day with the recovery efforts, Vera notices the improvised diets of the other workers. Her curiosity leads her to inquire with her more official acquaintances such as the Librarians and scholars about the City's water supply; where it comes from and what sort of backup reservoir there is in case of drought or emergency.

By now her temperament is as worn as her body, often working in complete and determined silence unless prompted and maintaining a polite front in contrast to the omnipresent scowl on her dusty face.

Re: Amidst the rubble and wreckage of the city...

He did not want to be in the city most days, yet word reached far of the destruction, and Ronan had once said he would be there to aid when the need was there. No proselytizing accompanied him; his mind and heart were still haunted by what had transpired, and he had nothing to say. In the fresh aftermath of destruction, people were likely too busy to listen anyway. He went about cloaked, though the gleam of armour and the swish of tartan fabric gained the occasional notice. He did not stay in any one place long enough for those angry or suspicious to gather around him.

But he was there, lending aid to lift crumbled masonry from those trapped below it. He was there to aid the guard in putting down monstrous creatures from below, where they threatened innocent lives. His was a healing hand which eased the sick and the injured; a strong hand against suffering and victimization. Those who caught a glimpse of his handsome face under his cowl, might have thought his smile reassuring yet sad.

Re: Amidst the rubble and wreckage of the city...

Having seen to her own affairs in the shadow of the disaster, the prodigal lady Wenderlee Varton emerges from the Tribune and lends her hands and her prowess in the monastic arts to healing the wounded. Under her care, wounds are salved and stitched, broken bones are set and splinted, and infections and pestilence are eased through herbs, hot oils, ki point pressure and guided meditation.

By her own words, each charge is warned that Wenderlee's aid always comes with a price, yet no coins or goods are ever taken in payment. She does, however, compel her charges to answer such disquieting questions or demands as "Tell me about your greatest fear," "Look at my body and tell me which emotions I arouse in you," "How much do you want to live?" or "Describe the gravest pain which you have ever felt in your life, and spare no details." If asked the reason for such questions and demands, she merely smiles enigmatically and threatens to withdraw her aid if her wishes are refused.

Only those victims nearest to death are spared her questions and demands; instead, she sets herself to restoring them to health straight away. But in so doing she invariably promises that, if they survive and return to health, she shall return for them and claim her due soon after that. No specific details are given voice, but her tone is decidedly ominous.

And for reasons known only to herself, Wenderlee opens her heart for a rare few of the victims whom she deems worthy of enlightened discussion, informing them that, as their suffering is their gift to the goddess Loviatar, so are their strength and their survival Her gifts to them. Though such proverbs and sermons are met with varying degrees of welcome, apathy or rejection, Wenderlee is not the least bit detered from delivering them.

Re: Amidst the rubble and wreckage of the city...

Vera's enquiries are met with mild puzzlement. The clean water comes from the underworks, it always has as far as most seem to know. This is just about the extent of everyone's knowledge.
The Pipeworkers have been attempting to repair the lines closest to the surface but the failure in supply seems to be coming from deeper in the great machinery and none in the Guilds are willing to risk going deeper, especially now.

---

Ronan's aid saves lives and helps many whose world was torn asunder. However his gentle and unconditional  help remains anonymous. None ever see his face fully nor know his name. In years to come some will talk of the kind stranger who was there at exactly the right moment before disappearing into the dust.

---

Wenderlee's more unusual ministrations do not draw attention at first. They are quiet and intimate affairs which leaves those she saves in a somewhat confused state. Most feel slightly dirty, for some her odd obsession seems to have struck a chord.

One old man in the white robes of the exile, who could have been saved with a little care, spits in her face at the condition of her help.

"The only price for my life..." he wheezes "...is my own determination to live ... or my deeds inspiring that determination in others.  I will not ... Barter"

---

At the end of the first week most of the need for on the spot heroics begins to dry up as problems begin to turn endemic. Though there are no doubt other stories of the aftermath which have not yet been told.
