Andrune Dungeon Guide

I've compiled a brief list of the significant dungeons in Andrune and their approximate locations. I'm not going to give too much detail about exactly where they are or what you'll encounter as this is information you'll hopefully track down in-game. The level ranges given are for parties of at least two characters, or a single very-powerful character.

If you plan on going solo and aren't very confident I advise going someplace you may out-level by a bit.

Scraggrat Warren (1-6): Avendel, Kings’ March
Tylwythen Deep (1-6): Bodkin
Derelict Townhouse (6-8): Avendel
Ruins of Kaddath (7-11): Winterfall Pass, the Stormcrests
Irontooth Stripmine (8-12): Bodkin Forest
Shadowpine Deeps (9-13): Moonveil Forest
The Twilight Reef (11-15): Hydra’s Fall
Valinael’s Garden (11-15): Bodkin Forest
Haderine Crypt (12-16): The Brandywine River
The Hunting Grounds (13-17): Brokenbow Forest, the Stormcrests
Weeping Wood (14-18): Hydra’s Fall
Asclepian Hospice (14-18): Avendel
Wormrot’s Hallow (15-19): Hydra’s Fall
The Ebon Abbey (16-20): Hydra’s Fall
Castle Asheland (19-23): The Emain River

The Hunting Grounds

The Hunting Grounds can be found in Brokenbow Forest within the Stormcrest Mountains, not far from Winterfall Pass.

This frigid woodland is all that remains of the once great halls of King Eochaid, last monarch of the Firbolg, who was slain in a great war with the Tuatha. The halls of have become a symbol of greatness to the descendants of the Firbolg and for many years served as the base of operations for the Bloodhunters: savage men who serve the hunt-god Erawyn. The Bloodhunters were thoroughly crushed when the alchemist Numos, along with Isania Jalitana and Kedri Senderthen of Bodkin, Morghen the mercenary, Aereon of Cathbad’s Circle, and Elluir Kalenal defeated Erawyn’s immortal servant: a cruel witch known only as the Huntress.

Today the halls are occupied by the voracious Rimebiter Gnolls. The beasts are servants to the sorcerer Darrach. Their reason for being there is unknown but imperial scouts report they have been carrying off Firbolg relics for some unknown purpose.

Irontooth Stripmine

The Irontooth Stripmine can be found in the hills east of Bodkin.

This wound in the earth was once idyllic woodland, but was ravaged by a swarm of goblins that descended upon it from the Stormcrest Mountains. The monsters feverishly plunder the earth, taking breaks only to raid nearby settlements for food and slaves. The cyclopean foreman Arges rules the mine with an iron fist, but there is only speculation as to who his masters are. The implications of the mine are worrisome: goblinkind has not been this organized, or aggressive, in decades.

The Twilight Reef

The Twilight Reef can be found on the beaches of Hydra’s Fall – an isle off the Aolyth’s southern coast.

A vast network of aquatic caverns spans the entirety of Hydra’s Fall, and much like the jungles above, they are burgeoning with highly evolved, and very deadly, flora and fauna. With all the other dangers of the island the reef would stand beneath anyone’s notice were it not for the tribe of sea devils within. The aggressive shark-men raid naval and merchant vessels alike… and judging by the shrines to the lindwyrm Ebarius within their lair it’s almost certain Lord Whiston and his allies having been coaxing them into action.

Haderine Crypt

Much to the dismay of Andrunese historians there are few structures or artifacts left behind by the Tuatha. The native elves have been nomads for millenia and refuse to mar the land with temples, and fortresses. Tombs, however, are the exception. Ordinarily the Tuatha leave their dead to rot and join the cycle of life and death, to be reborn in the future. But elves of exceptional wisdom or heroism are housed in vast barrows where their spirits linger to provide insight to future generations.

Haderus is such a place. But when the surrounding swamp was drained in order to irrigate Sunspring Meadows the Otherworld, the realm where spirits and faeries dwell, was torn asunder. A darkness has settled over the barrow and infected the elders' peaceful spirits.

The Ebon Abbey

The Ebon Abbey can be found in the jungles of Hydra's Fall.

Lead by Lord Alaric Whiston the Wyrmcult is a cabal of wizards, nobles, and visionaries seeking to break from the Empire and form their own utopian nation. They have earned the ire of both the empire, and followers of the old ways, for their theft and perversion of druidic magic which they use to tame the land and turn it against their enemies. Most notably they awoke and commanded Ebarius, a lindwyrm created by the death-god Wormrot, who was later slain by the Wyrmbane five.

Despite the linnorm's death the Wyrmcult lives on. Its young recruits congregate in the Ebon Abbey where they tame wyvern and imbibe dragon blood to bolster their magic - symbolic of man's inevitable conquest over nature.
