Legend of the Tyr's Bravura - Quest Series

Chapter 1: The Kar'torl Strikes (Completed)

Part I: Kar’torl orcs attempted to kidnap Mol’lytra. They took her to a cave nearby and an orc wizard attempted to extract some information from Mol’lytra's memory by force through a ritual. A group of adventurers rescued Mol'lytra from the orcs.

Part II: His name is Lok’torlah

While the group was fighting the orcs a mysterious young half-orc helped the adventurers in killing the orcs. As the group made their way back to the city, with the half-orc carrying the little girl, they encountered a mysterious half-orc assassin in black and red robes with plate armour underneath. The assassin made a threat to the group, demanding that they leave the girl or be killed on the spot. The brave dwarf Nicholli Blazzort challenged the assassin to a duel but was defeated easily. Then the priest Kayumi was cut down by the assassin who was annoyed by her actions. The wizard in black robes cast a fireball but the assassin managed to deflect it with his greatsword. Yvette managed to slow down the assassin with her spells and the dwarf carried Mol'lytra back to town. Unable to capture the girl, the assassin disappeared into the darkness.

Back in the Wasted Whale the young half-orc who helped the group, revealed that his name is Lok'torlah and explained to Numos and Yvette the crisis they have at hand. Lok'torlah explained that the House of L'torl, also known as the Black Dragons, of whom Mike Troll was an offspring, is working with the Kar'torl orcs to obtain the Tyr's Bravura.....

Chapter 2a: The Lost Ring (Completed)

Merchants reported to the authorities that there were orcs in the forest. A group of adventurers decided to investigate the matter. They found that orcs were digging around in the forest and that there was a large underground dig site underneath. As the group moved forward they were confronted by an Orc wizard, protected by a strong magical barrier. When he spotted the group of intruders, the Orc wizard created a dome of magical energies, trapping the adventurers inside. The wizard then proceeded to create three portals, from which waves of undead creatures emerged.

The group fought valiantly, with Darial Backblade slaying the last undead creature. However three of the adventurers were severely injured. With each wave of undead defeated the magical barrier in front of the orc wizard became weaker, and the adventurers were able to break it. The Orc wizard still had one last trick up his sleeve though: he made himself invincible by linking himself to a pedestal nearby. The heroes were no fools however, and quickly destroyed the pedestal.

As the Orc wizard was lying on the ground injured, a Black Dragon assassin suddenly appeared, rescued the wizard, and disppeared into the water. After the battle, Kaley Patson found a ring underneath the debris of the pedestal, and a note written in the Orcish language on one of the orcs' corpse. It turned out that the ring was a ring worn by the Purple Dragons of Cormyr. As no one in the note could understand Orcish, Kaley gave the note to Lok'torlah. The note contained information about a ruin on a remote island accessible by ship from Andrune. However, there was no map whatsoever. Lok'torlah believed that there had to be something on the note, so he dipped it in water, thereby revealing a map on the back of the note.

Chapter 2b: Chamber of the Lost (Completed)

Our heroes decided to return to town to hire a ship to travel to the ruin mentioned in the note. After some "negotiation", the dock hand agreed to take the group to the island. Not only was the island quite faraway from Andrune, but it was surrounded by dark clouds and a storm.

After landing on the island safely, the group proceeded to explore the ruin, which was actually an abandoned temple. The moment they stepped in all the fires and candles light up by themselves, as if someone was expecting the arrival of the group. They found a locked with a loose brick next to it. The small yet brave construct, Whar, gave the brick a little push, revealing a hidden knob. The knob has several letters carved onto it. And it became apparent that it was a lock of some sort. The letters in fact were an anagram of a phrase. Linani figured out the puzzle and Whar turned the knob accordingly. The door was finally opened.

As the group proceeded deep into the temple, they found a room with a statue of the deceased War Wizard Commander Zenith. As soon as they stepped into the room, the defences of the temple were activated. Golems emerged from the walls. Again the adventurers fought bravely and defeated all the golems.

Suddenly the spirit of Zenith appeared, informing the group that they must stop the Kar'torl orcs and the Black Dragons, that the two rings they found were the key, and that they should go to the Temple of the Eternal to revive the sword. With the Purple Dragon ring in Kaley's possession, and the ring Zenith's Promise in Darials, our heroes must now search for the sword.

Why did the Purple Dragons/War Wizards build this temple? How did they know the Kar'torl orcs and Black Dragons would come for the sword? Where is the sword now?

Chapter 2c: The Lost Book (Completed)

As Kieran and Kayumi were looking around in The Lexicon, the shop's owner, Mathias Blakes, approached them asking if they needed any help. After Kieran explained to the shop's owner what they were looking for Blakes showed them a strange book he had been keeping for a long time. Specifically it was not a book, but covers of a book whose pages were completely taken out. The shop's owner advised that they go see a gnome called Giggity G, who supplies Blakes with rare books from time to time.

Giggity G managed to identify the book's origin. It actually came from the now destroyed Immersea. It was salvaged from an area near the destroyed barracks and War Wizards' tower. G also showed Kieran and Kayumi that there was something hidden within the cover.

Kieran and Kayumi decided to return to Blakes's shop to inform him the discovery. And Blakes's volunteered to remove whatever was hidden from the book's cover. With care and skill Blakes managed to remove the hidden object; it was actually two pieces of metal with a folded note placed between them. Each piece of metal had a mark of the Purple Dragon on it. As soon as they saw the blank note the three in the shop realised the words on it were probably written with some kind of special ink, the kind that when you apply heat or water to it it will reveal the words.

However, none of them had a clue as to what kind of special ink was used. So Kieran and Kayumi decided to approach Numos, who was a member of the War Wizards, for assistance.

Chapter A: Path of Righteousness
(Optional Paladin Class Quest)

The Kar'torl orc shaman from the last chapter struck again. This time Kaley and Malithra were informed by Lok'torlah that he found something strange in the bush in the Crossroads. It was a pedestal with a hand holding a crystal ball on top. The pedestal faded in and out of existence. Both Kaley and Malithra touched the pedestal and each had a different reaction. Kaley felt warm and as if the pedestal was trying to influence her mind, while Malithra felt extreme pain and fell unconscious. At the same time, both of them were teleported to an unknown dimension.

Inside the twisted dimension there were more pedestals. The orc shaman, who could command undead, appeared. He attempted to influence Kaley's mind and persuaded her into torturing Malithra. At first Kaley pretended she was interested in the offer, but then turned against the orc shaman. The orc shaman summoned undead to kill the two, but was swiftly defeated.

The two heroines then attempted the cleanse the crystal balls, in which souls were trapped. Malithra attempted to cleanse the crystal orbs herself but her power alone was not strong enough. So she asked Kaley to lend her strength. In rediscovering and remembering the path of the paladin Kaley helped Malithra to cleanse the orbs. With the combined powers they were able to release the souls from the orbs. When all the orbs were cleansed the dimension began to collapse, Kaley and Malithra fell unconscious. When they woke up they found themselves back in the Crossroads again.

Chapter 3: The Secret Within

Lok'torlah found strange markings around Moonveil Forest, and suspected they were druidic alphabets. So he asked a group of adventurers for help, two of them were druids. The group eventually arrived at Badger Lake following clues left by the druidic messages. They found a few badgers, one of those was actually Mol'lytra, the druid-shifter.

But then the Kar'torl orcs' chiefs and the Black Dragons arrived. The orcs cast a spell which turned two of our heroes into pigs with wings. It turned out that spell was a curse and could only be reversed by druids. Numos tried to reverse the spell but instead turned one of the pigs into a turtle with wings. The two cursed adventurers eventually returned to normal.

The paladin Malithra managed to tap into Mol'lytra's memory, thereby discovering the location of the sword. However Malithra refused to share with the others what she just saw.

Chapter 4: Stalkers in the Dark

Lok'torlah suspected, and found evidence, that the Black Dragons have been stalking in town whoever was involved in the quest for the sword. Lok'torlah shared the information with Kaley.

One night Lok'torlah and Kaley were having a chat in the inn. Lok'torlah noticed a Black Dragon assassin was eavesdropping inside the inn as they talked. They both went after the assassin into the forest, but were soon found themselves surrounded by a group of Black Dragons. Apparently they lured the two out with the intention to kill them. Lok'torlah decided to fight the Black Dragons by himself so Kaley could escape. But he was quickly defeated and seriously injured. Just as the assassins proceeded to deal with Kaley the local militia arrived.

The Black Dragons did not wish to confront the local authorities. But before their retreat one of them threw a poison dagger at Kaley. Lok'torlah, despite his injuries, dashed in front of Kaley and was hit by the dagger in his right chest. Kaley tended to Lok'torlah's wounds and he recovered eventually.

Why are the Black Dragons stalking Kaley and Malithra? Have the Black Dragons targetted Lok'torlah as well?

Chapter 5: Mysterious Visitor

While strolling in Badger's Lake at night, Kieran and Aereon spotted a dark figure lurking on the top of a tree. Its eyes were glowing red as it looked at the two. The creature disappeared into the dark soon after.

The two examined the tree and suddenly branches of the tree fell down. Upon closer examination Kieran noticed the branches did not fall due to natural cause; it looked as if the branches had been cut with something extremely sharp beforehand. Also, there were claw marks on the branches.

Lok'torlah, who stumbled upon the couple, informed Kieran that the same claw marks were found on the ceiling in the inn.....

Chapter 6: Fists of Fury - Champion of the Dark

Two children were taken in the night by a pack of wolves from their farmhouse. A man in robes and hood named Samuel approached a group of adventurers for help. After rescuing two children from what seemed to be magically enhanced wolves the group was attacked by a mysterious half-orc, who uses a boomerang and a pair of claws as his weapon. It appeared that he was going after Samuel.

Samuel and the group fought the half-orc in a fierce battle. The half-orc possessed great yet unusual unarmed skill (Kungfu) and demonstrated unusual prowess in combat. The group struggled to defeat him but one of them managed to thwart the half-orc's attacks with traps.

Was the half-orc a Black Dragon? What was his relationship with Samuel? Could the half-orc be the mysterious shadow lurking in the bushes?

Chapter 7: The Lone Swordsman

Name: Samuel Odger
Age: 40+
Weapon of Choice: Longsword, Greatsword
Appearance: Scars across his face, well-trimmed beard

Image

A man who claimed to be Mike Troll's former Lieutenant in the Purple Dragons, Samuel Odger, approached the paladins of the Temple of the Triads and brought them news. Odger informed paladins that the Commander of the Black Dragons, for reasons unknown, has sent one of his best, if not the best, agents to Aolyth. Not much is known about this agent except that he/she has never failed. Odger also told the paladins that it is possible to access the place where the sword can be recharged even with a ring missing. The sword and the two rings all serve as a key. Odger suggested the paladins should retrieve the sword first.

Odger did not trust the paladins at the beginning. Before he left, as a 'test of honor', he forced the paladins into battling him. Only after the paladins used their true divine powers did Odger begin to trust them. Odger showed exceptional swordsmanship and revealed that Mike Troll taught him how to fight, although he hastened to stress that he was not officially Mike's disciple.

Odger was also seen by Kieran and Aereon in the forest when he single-handedly killed three Black Dragons.

Chapter 8: The Sword Retrieved

Numos, Kaley, Malithra, Mol'lytra, Lok'torlah and others arrived at the island where the sword rests. However upon arrival they were confronted by the Black Dragons who had already set up a camp there in an attempt to retrieve the sword themselves. The group successfully got the sword after defeating the Black Dragons.

A piece of metal with a map printed on it was found inside the hilt of the sword. It appears to be the location of the temple where the sword can be revived.

Mol'lytra collapsed as soon as the sword was taken out of the tree. A few days later, when she woke up she was in her original form, although soon after, from time to time, she would turn into a little girl again. Mol'lytra's body would alternate between the two forms and she is unable to control it.
