invincible undead?

doesn't seem right at all that the spell that's supposed to be able to do all this power on undead is completely and utterly useless... tried using undeath to death on a few of the asheland undead and they were 99% immune to the spell, their base saves were 27-29 for the footmen and archers... not even checking the casters since it'll be even higher... can something be done about their saves or at least make the spell able to do something at least? is kind of ridiculous to see monsters laughing off a spell that is specifically made just for them....

Worst thing is, if people are lucky to get all five-six skeletons down which normally spawn in one room (before there were 3 skeletons, and people were able to clean a room) , they dont drop anything.. The golem stewarts drop, and they are easier to take down than one crippling striking skellie.

Its fun with a really hard place like Asheland. Having a big chance to die and respawn, burning some exp.. But, yeah.. I think the skeletons have gotten a insane upgrade by getting the spawn number up and their AB is insane aswell, probably AC aswell.. There is no use of having an AC build there, with divine shield, tower shield, epic feat armor skin ect, you will get hit by almost all their attacks.. Cant imagine how fast people with a twohanded weapon and low AC are going to die there.

It was a mistake to reduce the difficulty of Asheland when the rest of the server was made more conducive to solo play. It was always meant to make you cry.

Given that its primary function is related to a DM plot, and encounters can be altered if a lower-level party wants to explore it with DM supervision, I'm inclined to leave it as is.

If it had lore checks or flavor text - stuff that make it viable to explore on your own I'd be more inclined to change it.

would like to swap out my necromancy focus if it's not going to be changed then... don't have any reason to keep it at all if the main use isn't even useful anymore... also it isn't about farming... if they had half the saves that they have now so the spell would actually have a chance to work would only mean the spell is working half the time... and considering the most you can memorize is maybe 5-7 uses of the spell... how is that farming if you can only clear out a single room or two of the castle when there's 2 floors and about 10 spawns or so? even if you some how magically manage to get all 7 spells kill off all the undead in a spawn at once you still have 3 rooms full of undead that can kill a small group quickly...

Before some of the buffs I did some tests and was able to solo the first floor of Asheland on Calisto using empowered Undeaths to Death and maximized flame brand. The stewards required a lot of consumables and quick summon-swapping, and luck, but I am not surprised to see Asheland rightly retuned to the danger it once was. There is a reason Isania won't go near it.

I wouldn't write off Undeath to Death as useless, not only can it be empowered (I usually can pack 12-14 uses this way) but its super useful in Haderus to help clear out witches.

Not much else to do in EU time im afraid, than to run around the dungeons trying to find loot. Sadly all the unidentified stuff has been nerfed. Only way of getting anything is to stay awake and skip work the next day, by being on a US time DM event.

I like that its hard.. Dont know how people are going to survive in there though..

Can always farm other places when bored :P

I don't think the server was ever balanced to support as much +5 gear as is currently floating around. With the exception of the end of a huge quest (like the Barghest) you won't be seeing DM loot of that power. (And I think barghest loot was capped at around +4)

That said, I am still pro-abolishing all time zones and everyone simply being on PST for my own convenience.

Well we DO have other undead dungeons, don't forget. Plus they're a common DM quest enemy.

Note: difference between:

You can't farm it anymore.

And

You can't farm it anymore without risk.

Undead in Asheland are crazy powerful for in setting reasons. Technically they aren't exactly the same as standard undead so it makes sense the canon spell doesn't work so well

The castle is supposed to be terrifying for just about everyone. This balances out the huge in setting benefits that could come to someone from investigating the castle.

Why don't you keep necromancy focus (I'f it was a part of your character concept and not just a mechanical thing) use it to Roleplay studying the asheland undead and perhaps developing new way to defeat them.
A place like Asheland would hold a certain fascination for a necromancer surely. "But I'm an awesome necromancer what new layer of evil is this I have dug upon! To the laboratory!"

Jus sayin'
