Oh, I haven't really followed the Harry Potter movies. What kind of time travel's in that one?

(Minutemen was okay, by the way. I'd give it 3 stars out of 5.)

Yeah, probably. emoticon

I've never seen The Butterfly Effect, but I have seen The Butterfly Effect 3. That was actually kind of sad when he has to stop his psycho sister by going back in time to their childhood and stopping himself from saving her life in that house fire. Even if she did grow up to become a lethal, obsessive nutball...poor little girl. emoticon

Also, this:

13 movies which feature time travel:
1) Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure
2) The Terminator
3) Men in Black 3
4) 12 Monkeys
5) Time Bandits
6) The Lake House
7) Time Cop
8) Minutemen
9) Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban
10) The Butterfly Effect
11) Back to the Future
12) Frankenstein Unbound

Now that was pretty damned ominous ending too. "You think that you have killed me. But I will be with you forever. I am...unbound." emoticon

Too bad TV episodes aren't movies. Right now, I'm looking at my "Time Travel and Infinity" DVD from the second The Outer Limits series, it has six time-travelling episodes from the series and they all range from good to awesome. "A Stitch in Time" was pretty cool with how Amanda Plummer's character is going back in time and killing Death Row convicts before they commit their crimes, and every time she goes back in time and kills someone or changes something, it changes something in the present. And since the present is a product of the past, the FBI agents who are trying to figure out who's been killing all of these men (who are now innocent men, of course) are unaware of how that time traveler's really been screwing things up. It's a pretty cool plot device, and as far as I've seen, it's one of the most accurate cinematic depictions of how time travel could potentially alter the past, present and future.

And then there's the "Tribunal" episode, where the time travelers end up punishing an elderly Nazi war criminal who escaped justice by dressing him up as a Jewish prisoner and abandoning him in the same concentration camp where--and when--he was one of the officers running the place. And it provoked me to ask a weird little question: "If you traveled back in time and got killed by a younger version of yourself, would it count as a homicide or a suicide?"

Anyway, who wants to wrap this one up and give us the next theme? emoticon

I might have to get around so seeing the first one someday. Maybe I'll get around to watching all of the Harry Potter movies too. emoticon

So...can you think of a #13 for that time travel list? emoticon

Hmm...I'm not so sure about Next. Nicolas Cage's character could see into the future, but he couldn't actually transport himself into it. Or was there a part of Next where he actually did that? :-/
