The Map

Late in the afternoon, a blue-winged elf touched down just outside the gates of Avendel. After making his way inside, his first stop was, as with many adventurers, the pawn shop. When he headed in, Amun lit up.

After explaining that he had found a lead on the missing item that he had tried to auction in New Rivenmaur, which lead to the destruction of his shop there and eventual relocation to Avendel, he produced a map, and offered it to the elf for a price.

Later that day, several posters were hanging around Avendel. Written in a fine, loopy cursive, they read:

"Wanted: Magically-inclined scholars to accompany me on an expedition into the mountain in search of Formorian artifacts. Be prepared for a long, cold, and dangerous journey. Anybody with combat prowess also welcome, divine, arcane or otherwise. Find blue-winged angel with less-than-cheerful mannerisms for more details."

Even later in the evening, a note is left in the care of the church at Thorneymoor for one Mister Wynters, with instructions to help him understand what the bigger words mean.

Pike,

I am forming an expedition to track down any sign of the Fomorians. Journey begins in the mountains. If you can, abandon harassing the hunters to join me.

--Daedamai

((In the effort of keeping the event from getting too large and out of hand, I'd appreciate it if people contacted Daedamai in-game or on the forums to join the expedition))

Re: The Map

A fair blonde man stood on his pedestal, preaching to the few foresters in Thorneymoor bored enough to attend his sermons.

"And that's why the Exile is so much better then any of the heathen deities, brothers! They're dirty and stupid and silly!"

Hesitantly, a young man came running in. He took a deep breath in preparation before interrupting the young priest.

"Brother Pike! There's an urgent message for you from an elf."

"A dirty heathen elf sent me a message? Do they even know how to write? Are they smart enough for that? This is indeed a curious quandary, brother! Wait... did the elf have wings? Did he have hair like a woman?! Oh, Brother Daedamai, how I have missed thee! He tries so hard to be just as good as a real person, you know. I think it's the example I set for him."

Upon reading the brief message, Brother Pike writes a reply in elegant script.

Dear bestest friend ever brother Daedamai:

Yay! We shall march a crusade against the foul, evil, heathen Horned Giants and righteously smite their wicked faces! The Exile himself will applaud our heroic deeds from the Heavens! You may even be fortunate enough to be blessed by him and turn into a real person!

PS: I'm not harrassing them, brother Dae, I'm teaching them the error of their wicked ways.

PPS: I missed you. Why don't you write me more often? Why don't you visit? I've told all the men here all about you so they won't shoot you on sight for being a dirty elf.

Re: The Map

A note left for Daedamai at the Blue Moon, written in crisp, practiced handwriting:

Sir.

My name is Reven, and we have met before. I write you in response to your notice for an expedition into the mountains. I am a magically inclined scholar, and have been trained in the royal army of Cormyr. More importantly, I can follow orders and avoid drama or moral judgements during a mission. If you wish to meet with me, please leave a reply with the Blue Moon, and I shall attend you as soon as our schedules allow.

Sincerely,

Reven Bloodgale.
