Of Mice and Mechanical Monstrosities
A gnome on the smallish side has been seen in Avendels Promenade, recently. Speaking to anyone who she deems powerful and willing to listen, the gnome will gladly talk for hours about artificing, and how she's come upon a revolutionary new way of combining clockwork and raw materials with magic, to create golems with sophistication unheard of. She even posted upon a message board with several advertisements for which parts she still needs to collect. They are as follows:
One (1) Glass Eyeball (Completed)
One (1) Chain (Completed)
One (1) Large Hollow Orb (Completed)
One (1) Cog (Completed)
Two (2) Spindly Legs (Completed)
One (1) Mechanical Heart (Completed)
Various pieces of scrap metal. (Completed)
One (1) Large clump of wires (Completed)
Anyone with information about these components should speak with Crialina, outside the Blue Moon in Avendel, as she has promised rewards for everyone able to help her locate any of her missing parts.

Re: Of Mice and Mechanical Monstrosities
All is not quite well, for the adventurers who do step up to tackle Crialina's challenge, as all soon find out quickly that, for whatever reason, a particular band of ogres happen to be drawn to the mechanical pieces scattered across the Island.
These ogres are large, dumb, and prone to violence if anyone insults their stupidity or ugliness, as those are the two traits they seem to take the most pride in. Some have been known to show child-like wonder at the mention of toys, and for whatever reason, be it magic, or a clan-wide concussion, they speak mostly in simple rhyme.
Crialina, after receiving her latest mechanical piece, insinuated that these ogres, at least, some of them, are not quite the bloodthirsty beasts everyone knows and hates. In fact, she went so far as to say that one of them, who was horribly brutalized for no good reason, after helping the party and not fighting back (you monsters), allegedly built an orphanage. Although it's unclear how true this is, the ogre didn't seem particularly hostile, though his brothers most certainly were.

Re: Of Mice and Mechanical Monstrosities
A new development!
After months of inactivity and waiting for some adventurers to find her, Crialina decided to take matters into her own hands, and got proactive in her search.
However, this band of merry adventurers noticed something odd in their campaign against the innocent, rhyming ogres. They seemed to be aided by mechanical creatures, some flying, some merely standing there until it was time to fight, but all of them hostile.
What could this mean?

Re: Of Mice and Mechanical Monstrosities
As adventurers cruelly slay helpless ogres at the behest of a gnome, the ogres somehow put forth a Herculean effort to...Well, honestly, they probably aren't really sure what they're doing. But there seems to be more and more of them surrounding the few remaining parts still left in the world. Maybe someday their baffling numbers will be enough to save them.
In other news, Crialina has been up to trickery! When a set of legs were brought to her, she claimed that she didn't need to pay the adventurers for their attempted genocide, and the retrieval of aforementioned parts. She then skipped off, giddy and giggling like a schoolgirl.
In other, other news, everyone involved agreed that gnomes are creepy, and one giggling like that is almost too ominous for comfort.

Re: Of Mice and Mechanical Monstrosities
Finally, Crialina's posters are torn down.
It seems that her quest is finished, and she can be heard toiling away in her workshop as she works to rebuild.

Re: Of Mice and Mechanical Monstrosities
Some observant adventurers may notice an odd mechanical creature wandering around Avendel. The guards seem disgruntled at its presence, and rightly so; the Monodrone is willing to let everyone know that it's there as a prototype to potentially replace flesh and blood guards, if it proves financially viable.
