The Heartbreaker
It was a a quiet night in New Rivenmaur, just as things on the island had been quiet this season. But it was an uncomfotable calm tonight, people went about their business but cautiously, as if speaking too loudly would bring down the wrath of whatever horrid storm they were in the eye of just now.
The heartbreaker too wasn't quite as rowdy as it was normally. But for the heartbreaker even a major dip in energy meant lots of drinking, yelling and ass grabbery.
Kedri had stopped in for a drink before walking back to the city and sat with a brandy and a book. Surprisingly he was able to concentrate in the noise as if he were in a silent library.
He looked up with a small smirk as a game of cards entered its third dispute in ten minutes when his eyes were drawn to the opening of the front door.
[So who is going to step through the door? Any volunteers?]

Re: The Heartbreaker
A verdant skinned woman with a pointy hat hurries into the tavern to get out of the rain. She sighs and shakes out her frock, and heads quickly to the bar to order up some brand of liquid fire to chase the cold away.

Re: The Heartbreaker
She tried to to put some semblance of order to her fiery red locks once she tore off the rain soaked leather hood and took stock of the current patrons of the Heartbreaker. It was obvious she had long given up on trying to maintain the mannerisms of her land.
Calynth chuckled to herself and mused once more on how The Fates had tossed her from the shelter of the Eladrin High court and discarded her in this culturally forsakened land and to this tavern of all places.
Her glance swept over the woman who had entered just before her and not recognizing her she continued on searching the place for a friendly face.
Finally she spotted Kedri, grinned.... "Ok maybe The Fates don't hate me after all." ..and headed towards him.

Re: The Heartbreaker
The door opens allowing a chill breeze to cut through the warmth of the Heartbreaker. Flashes of lightning illuminate a silhouette against the stormy night. A slight man, with distinct Tuathan features slips into the tavern. He looks initially taken aback from the onslaught of noise, light and smell coming from the bustling inn. Closing his eyes, he shuts out the room and takes several deep breaths.
When his eyelids flutter open again he is bright eyed and smiling. Crossing the expanse of the room he approaches the bar and orders a stiff drink. Glancing around the room he notices Kedri and Calynth talking by the fire, and the emerald Hester nursing a drink in a shadowed high-backed chair. He takes his glass of spirits and settles into a second shadowy chair.
Happy for the warmth he closes his eyes and sips.

[Yeah... I started this when the server was in a bit of a lull and I had loads of great idea about where it could go, all of which I have promptly forgotten. Will try and think of something. ]
