The lovely Rosalie offered to watch the infant for the weary whore who had been charged with the child's care. While minding the infant, various dark and evil omens presented them selves around the tavern. Fearing the infant was in danger the warrior Phaeron and the mage Rosalie decided to retreat to the city of Avendel where they thought the child would be safe. Along the journey they were ambushed, and the child snatched by the black spirit herself. In her feathery form she flew off towards the mountains where she was to wait for the stars to realign so that she may "complete what she started with the child". nondisclosed_email@example.com (Ortlindegal)Fri, 08 Aug 2008 12:53:04 +0000 Re: Malariteshttps://bandrune.runboard.com/p788,from=rss#post788https://bandrune.runboard.com/p788,from=rss#post788Among the laughing of men and songs of whores at the Heart breaker inn there is a new sound. A crying baby, currently in the care of the proprietor of the less than respectable tavern. The orphan infant was brought down from the northern forests of brokenbow by Seager, the youth Liam, the small fiery man Pyrunis, and the quiet young mage Rosalie. nondisclosed_email@example.com (Ortlindegal)Wed, 06 Aug 2008 17:56:47 +0000 Re: Malariteshttps://bandrune.runboard.com/p778,from=rss#post778https://bandrune.runboard.com/p778,from=rss#post778For the last few seasons harsh weather has made it nearly impossible to make the long and dangerous journey to the Dwarvin city of Khaz Nazim. Now there seems to be a break in the weather and the snowy trails and icy caves have have for the time being opened. Rumors have been heard of Malarites stalking along those trails, not hunting, but carrying goods.nondisclosed_email@example.com (Ortlindegal)Thu, 31 Jul 2008 11:50:15 +0000 Re: Malariteshttps://bandrune.runboard.com/p685,from=rss#post685https://bandrune.runboard.com/p685,from=rss#post685Sounds of celebration echo through Broken bow Woods. Beating drums, joyous yelling and singing, the eruption of horn calls. For three days and nights the Malarites continue with their wild feasts and hunts. Some weep with joy, others drop to their knees and thank the heavens. Finally, their priestess is free, their cause has a leader, and for the time being they have hope. nondisclosed_email@example.com (Ortlindegal)Tue, 17 Jun 2008 15:48:48 +0000 Re: Malariteshttps://bandrune.runboard.com/p666,from=rss#post666https://bandrune.runboard.com/p666,from=rss#post666Last night the forest seemed to hold its breath. The chilling winds of the mountains became still, the howls of wolves silent. All things of the forest watching as the elf known as Seager entered the Woods of the Brokenbow. When he exited the accursed woods a few hours later the silence was shattered. Beast like yowls, shrill screams, and foul curses, shattered the air around The Gallows Oak. "Swine!,Fool!, What favor I did bestow upon you is now withdrawn! Cur! Bastard! The unlikely emissary Vind'tok, on behalf of the elves, met for a 2nd time with the Ogres of the Breakneck tribe. Over strong wine and cooked meat the uncommonly wise Vind'tok won the favor of the breakneck chief as well as their promise to oppose the Malarites. nondisclosed_email@example.com (Ortlindegal)Wed, 04 Jun 2008 12:54:41 +0000 Re: Malariteshttps://bandrune.runboard.com/p636,from=rss#post636https://bandrune.runboard.com/p636,from=rss#post636  A cloaked, armored figure approaches the old tree, a second standing several paces behind. Looking up at the abused wood, it's ancient bark gouged and singed from battles not long past, she, for it was a she, lifted a gauntleted hand to beckon the other forward. The other, her armor less expensive in appearance, stepped as bade with a set of wrapped packages in hand.   Moments later, they departed. At the foot of the tree, resting calmly on it's roots, lay a bow, a dagger and a cask. But the horrors of torch lit nights still remain fresh in the minds of many peasants who might consider rebuilding their homes and farms. Nights filled with fear, blood, and screaming as the elven warbands dragged off sons to be made into wolfish monsters. Elves had destroyed what had been built and nurtured by uncounted generations in a family. And now, "New Rivenmaur" as it has been called, is being rebuilt by elves. Elves in silken robes with gilded weapons. Elves, who over their perfumed noses, look down on the "poor" humans they are trying to help. The humans who once lived in Rivenmaur find this insulting to both the living and the dead who gave their lives in defense of the original town. The elven leadership has inspired many former occupants of Rivenmaur to take on the scarlet mark of the Beastlord. nondisclosed_email@example.com (Ortlindegal)Tue, 06 May 2008 18:13:06 +0000 Re: Malariteshttps://bandrune.runboard.com/p581,from=rss#post581https://bandrune.runboard.com/p581,from=rss#post581The village of Elkshire is now nothing more than a pile of burning embers. Having been presented with proof that Malarites were hiding among the villagers there, the empire moved in. With flame and sword they destroyed every home within the tiny settlement, burnt every field, and killed every man, woman, and animal. They left only one small boy alive. Pinned to his shirt was a warning to Malarites and all who would associate with them . The annoying sting of the Malarites has finally woken the sleeping imperial lion. They have no patience for traitors and will show no mercy to any village that harbors them.nondisclosed_email@example.com (Ortlindegal)Sat, 19 Apr 2008 23:37:03 +0000 Re: Malariteshttps://bandrune.runboard.com/p567,from=rss#post567https://bandrune.runboard.com/p567,from=rss#post567Much of the Malarite ranks lay bloodied and shattered in the fields and streets of Rivnemaur. Having hoped to mount a large surprise raid on the small coastal town, they were met with unexpected resistance. Lady Malithra, Sir Lanthar, and Caelun were warned of their intent the morning before the attack by the Druid Flamebriar. Word was sent to the town of Rivenmaur, where the brave knights of the Triad prepared for the siege. With the bulk of the Malarite forces stalking towards Rivenmaur, the above mentioned quartet made plans to strike at the elder Malarite soothsayers and hunters who were holding council around their accursed tree that same night. Striking without warning and mercy the trio of Lady Malithra, Kieran Flamebriar, and Sir Lanthar laid waste to what could best be defined as the loose leadership of the malarites. The horrible failure that was the attack on Rivenmaur in conjunction with the slaughter of some of their most experienced hunters has left the Malarites crippled. The failure of the attack has shocked many of the Malarites to their senses. Many who survived have set down their skinning knives, and picked back up their shepherd crooks, and plows. They return to their neglected fields, wives and children they miss. But as it is with all cults there are the hardened zealots. A very small and maddened group of Malarites still remain. nondisclosed_email@example.com (Ortlindegal)Sun, 13 Apr 2008 12:38:19 +0000 Re: Malariteshttps://bandrune.runboard.com/p566,from=rss#post566https://bandrune.runboard.com/p566,from=rss#post566Oops. In search of answers A group of adventurers descended into Haedures to make contact with the Druid Eludir's ghost. According to the elven sage, she was an old and malicious forest spirit who once roamed the land. Foolish druids of the Shadowpines had released her at the start of the Andrunesse- elven conflict. They had hopes that she would cause chaos and pain to their human enemies. They soon learned she was not a force to be controlled, and held no sympathies with their cause. Eludir was called upon to deal with this huntress. Having no knowledge of how to kill the spirit he disarmed it and imprisoned it within an ancient tree. The huntress was placed in her leafy prison, in hopes that when the old elven gods returned, they would deal with this pest. Her followers rake the land now. They seek her bow, which was stolen from the secure and secret place Eludir had hidden it. There are rumors among their ranks that a Hin thief by the name of Darian now has the bow. These rumors now direct them. They also seek The Blighted Staff. An instrument of an ancient and destructive druid. This staff they hope, in the proper hands, will possess power enough to destroy the bonds which keep their priestess. They had sent their own expedition into the ruins of an ancient elven city. This malarite party was stopped by a group or triadic paladins and some hanger-ons. They were able to obtain the staff, but lost it to a member of their party who walked off with it. The Malarites have no thought in their mind now but the freedom of their priestess, and finding the items that will facilitate this.   nondisclosed_email@example.com (Ortlindegal)Sat, 12 Apr 2008 12:47:31 +0000 Malariteshttps://bandrune.runboard.com/p559,from=rss#post559https://bandrune.runboard.com/p559,from=rss#post559Sorry, I realize I probably should have done this sooner Life is hard in the frontier providences of Aolyth. Those who live in the outer territories must be strong in body and mind to withstand the obstacles the land has to offer. For centuries these folk have endured, survived and carved out a life for themselves and their kin. As weathered and hardened as they are, every man has his breaking point. For years the barons have slept safely in their city manors while the tax farmers lash peasants. To make matters worse the recent surge in elven hostilities has given them nothing but sleepless nights, weary sword arms, and mothers burying their sons. Filled with frustration, desperation, and rage they pick up their hunting bows, and seek a different way. For a long time the threads of Malar worship have been woven into the fabric of everyday frontier life. They pray to Malar keep the predators at bay, they pray to grant their sons good hunts, and they pray to keep their bellies full. The worship has taken a different tone as of late. There are whispers throughout the outer towns, whispers of a high priestess of the Beastlord. A priestess unjustly imprisoned by those horrid and cruel elves. She seeks freedom from her magic chains, just as they seek freedom from theirs. To those who will hunt for her, and release her, she promises freedom and a life of bounty. To her her leafy alter they have flocked and will serve.nondisclosed_email@example.com (Ortlindegal)Wed, 09 Apr 2008 20:57:56 +0000
