Crops have started to wither and die around Avendel.

Mists have settled thick around the island, making passage by sea beyond treacherous. Rumours spread of mystical dangers, of sirens and of plagues, that strike through the fog. Food coming from the mainland will be as scarce as food grown in the island, it seems...
But these are early days. Many resolve to tighten their belts for now, looking to the future for a solution. This isn't the first time the island nation has stood on the verge of hunger and it surely won't be the last.
